Art

is dirty work

but someone

has to do it.

I am rediscovering the need for creativity.  Brene Brown’s research instructs her that there is no such thing as people who are creative and those who aren’t.  There are just people who use their creativity and those who don’t. *    The unique form of our creativity, I believe, is vital to our well-being.  To be fully who we are, we need to practice our creativity!

What creative outlet are you pursuing?

Each of us has a creative expression.  It shows up when you post a photo and hundreds of people respond to it. Doodling looks like art to me. And when a genuine smile spreads across your face and someone else mirrors it, you have used  creative juices.  A sense of satisfaction fills us.  We lose track of time, for a little while.  You know the feeling!

Creativity does not require a pen or paintbrush.  Maybe your creative tool is a shovel, boat, ball, club, saw, garment, room, camera.  You name it! Then use it!  If you take a picture of your creative work, enjoy it!  Whether you share your “art” or not, the world will be more alive because you expressed yourself.  And you will feel the energy of it too!

Notice what you do today that contributes to this positive feeling for yourself and others.  Today, do something that uses your creative energy.  Do your art!
